Attorney Brendan Little has been made a partner at Bergman Draper Oslund Udo, PLLC, in a move that will strengthen the law firm and its commitment to its clients.
Brendan has spent his entire legal career fighting for victims harmed by dangerous products and corporate fraud. After graduating from the University of Washington and law school at the Washington University in St. Louis, Brendan clerked for U.S. District Judge Carol E. Jackson in the Eastern District of Missouri. He then practiced law at a prominent New York City law firm where he represented corporate whistleblowers and individuals harmed by asbestos and other dangerous products. Notably, Brendan helped secure key legal victories for men and women exposed to asbestos from cosmetic talcum powder products. He also prosecuted claims against negligent landlords and the New York City Public Housing authority for exposing young children to lead in paint and contaminated drinking water. In several of his cases, he has helped clients recover multi-million-dollar verdicts or settlements. In one case, he helped clients in a case that secured a settlement of $117 million.
Born in Bremerton, Washington, Brendan grew up on the Kitsap Peninsula. Since returning to the Seattle area in 2019, he has continued to fight for individuals harmed by asbestos exposure. As someone who grew up near Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, the issue hits close to home. “When I was a kid,” Brendan said, “Puget Sound Naval Shipyard was and still is the largest employer on the Kitsap Peninsula. We would tour the Turner Joy and other Navy ships on school field trips. Many of my friends’ parents worked for the Shipyard,” Brendan recalls. “I had no idea that asbestos hazards at PSNS and other local shipyards were responsible for high rates of asbestos cancer in Kitsap County, which has one of the highest mesothelioma rates in the entire nation.”
Bergman Draper Oslund Udo has a long history representing Washington shipyard workers and specializes in cases involving asbestos exposure. The firm has helped obtain compensation for dozens of families who received a cancer diagnosis after working as PSNS and other industrial sites throughout Washington and Oregon. In the last year alone, Bergman Draper Oslund Udo has obtained two major verdicts for Washington mesothelioma victims in the amounts of $11 million and $10 million — the only law firm in the region to do so. “It is a great honor to work with a talented group of attorneys who are focused on helping families navigate the difficult time following a cancer diagnosis,” Brendan said. “It is also important to hold the companies who sold these dangerous products into our community accountable.”
